Dubstep Hardcore

This is something I whipped up in the span of like 3 classes, I tried to really get a gritty sound with the drums, there are some drums that sound like I'm banging on trash cans, and the bass is very powerful sounding like a distorted electric bass etc. Did a few cool pitch sweeps etc. still needs work, will finish later.

Put your boots on ( Its gonna be a long trip )

So I realized that a song of mine that I made earlier entitled, "Dubstep_Beat" was lacking but that it had a lot of un-reached potential so I decided to beef it up a little bit and this is what I came up with. I think I still need to get some of the grimey mucky muck out of the bass but it was kinda a pain to do that with all the other sounds remaining in tact. Anyways what I added were some pad sounds (with overdrive and boost) to get a good sound canvas to paint my audio picture upon. Then I took Mr. Rabuse's advice and added a harder, more in your face kick drum set to a metal-ish beat. Then I messed around with the synth sounds I had already created. I took the 3OXC (1) and changed it so that It was overdriven, then I took the 3rd ocilator, detuned it, and set an automation clip so that it would fade in quickly at the end of each measure giving the ipression that theres feedback building on strange harmonics. Then i added a sub bass behind the main riff to give the bass more body. Added a few parts of Pitch shifting synths with an LFO on their cutoff freq. Then as a final touch, I took the main synth line (the soloy one) and ran it through an over drive to give it some bite, then I put it into the pan-o-matic to give it head spinning pan effects : D viola!

Scream

For this one I wanted to mess around with the Slicex vocal chopper so I started with a simple half time drum beat and added a groove with Sytrus's "Depthcore" Preset. Next I added in some high hats in a choppy pattern that added to the swing like so, x xxx x x x x x xxx x x x x x Then came the vocal chopped part, I took a preset recording of a person screaming, ran it into SliceX and chopped it into different sample markers, then i created a pattern of scream pieces that I liked and put it behind the high hat part, then I used the Vocodex to give it a synthy sound. I decided that it still need some dark punchy notes to really accent the scream part so I went to Sytrus and added the "Power" preset under vocoter carriers, created a little dissident bass line with an LFO on the cutoff Freq. in the background and patched it all together. Viola!

Radiohead

For this song I was inspired by the band Radiohead's song Lotus Flower ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfOa1a8hYP8 )so I made my idea into a trippy beat with a sort of scary ambient noise scratching in the background. I used pad to create the sound like echos in a cave and a sort wave growling synth with a 10 step HP filter to create the filtered choppy thing in the high end. The dubstep part consists of the 30xc layered so that 2 synths play the same notes adding more power to the sound. Just before the drop you can hear a radio tuning, I thought that was a nice touch. There are two different drum patterns and an additional high hat part that I add in during parts to make the beat choppier. Pretty sick if I do say so myself

Yoooo

This is a song that was created to be put into a music video made by Dan stone. I liked the sound of the chirping birds so I made a half time drum beat to it, added some Pads in the background (layering them). Then for the pitch shifted part I used the 3oxc and went to the INS tab, Adjusted the pitch envelope so that it would go upwards, then adjusted the attack to match 2 measures worth of the song. Then for the last part I took a sub bass and added a slow LFO to the Cutoff Freq. to get the Wuuuub wuuuub wuuuub sound

Dubstep Beat

Okay so for this one I used a low sub bass and arranged it in the piano roll so that it would do slides. The main riff is the 3oxc set to a high gain and low octave so that its clipping (then I ran it into a arppegiator) I still felt it was missing something so I threw in a slayer part set to chords, a clean tone, and lots of tremolo.
